Summer Excursion

In the middle of this past summer, I was roped into being a butler for one morning at a Princess dilly-wop at church. So after I slipped away from that, I decided to Treat My Self! So naturally, I went on a photography excursion. I headed Southeast of W'ford and wound up just north of Cresson. I had taken a few pictures along the way, but I was growing tired of just driving, so I pulled over. I hopped out, set up my tripod and started shooting. After several photos, I would switch lenses (I was still breaking myself in on those old school lenses), and then take some more shots. Here are a few from that pic stop.

Long Time, No See

Well, its been a while since I've even looked at this. A lot has happened. I am no longer in Oklahoma. I now reside in Lubbock, Tx with some great friends. I am attending SPC (SouthPlainsCollege) in Levelland this year to get all the classes that I possibly can, out of the way. Im still taking pictures, possibly more than I used to.
I don't really have a project that I'm working on right now, so I will start posting pictures that I've taken over the summer. Hopefully though, I will find a project to start working on, and when I do, I will be posting all my updates here. Until that day comes, here are some shots that I took in Weatherford this summer. I took these with an old Rokinon 80-200 FD mount lens on my Rebel T3 body (with an adapter of course). I had recently gotten the adapter and this was one of my first times using the lens. It was difficult to get used to. I had to ween myself off of Auto Focus and Auto F/stop.

OKC

Had a great day yesterday. Got to hear Jase Roberson speak, then got to go to the Oklahoma City Memorial, OKC Zoo, and Science Museum. The best part though was spending time with friends.

Magazine Cover

For this assignment in my Photoshop class we had to take a published magazine cover and put ourselves on it. I found this Time Magazine and thought it would be really cool to duplicate.

The only thing that I was not happy with was the replacement title text.
Part of the assignment was that we had to change the titles. I'm ok with what I came up with but I wish I could have found a more similar font.

I've learned a lot in my Technology for Graphics class. Basically I am learning all about Photoshop, and later Illustrator. Anyway, this was the first project that we could choose which photos to use. I decided to make this 100% Jake Walton. Each element in this calendar page was taken or created by me, except for the OC emblem which was a requirement to use.
